‘Metropolis’ Art Deco Dress Clip Diamante

Metropolis style, futuristic Art Deco diamante Dress Clip. Rare. 1920s to 1930s. Vintage silver chain enables this fabulous piece to be worn as a necklace. This piece also shows the influence of South American, especially Mayan culture, on Art Deco design.

Metropolis was a 1927 German Expressionist science-fiction silent film directed by Fritz Lang, based on Thea von Harbou’s novel of the same name. Filming took place for 17 months at a cost of over 5M Reichsmarks, the equivalent of about Euro 21M. It was the first feature-length film of its kind.
