Jewellery Full Collection
The Design Gallery has specialised in 19th and 20th century designer jewellery for 18 years. We also stock the work of Britain’s leading silversmith-engraver Malcolm Appleby MBE. From the dynamic shapes of Art Deco to the sinuous curves of Art Nouveau and the handcrafted creations of the Arts and Crafts Movement, there is always a wide range of authentic jewellery to choose from.
Aficianados of sculptural Scandinavian design will often discover well-known names such as Georg Jensen, alongside Mexican silver and one-off artisan pieces from the UK and Europe.
Vintage costume jewellery from the 1940s to the 1980s is also well represented including Christian Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Givenchy, Coro, Monet, Trifari, Kenneth Jay Lane and vintage Butler and Wilson.
We have recently designed a range of Suffragette-inspired jewellery with a FGA gemmologist and launched The Bloomsbury Collection featuring rare Venetian and Czech glass beads in the colours of Charleston.
The Design Gallery has contributed photographs to Judith Miller’s books on costume jewellery and is a member of the Jewellery History Society. You are always welcome to contact us with photographs of jewellery you are interested to sell or to research.
