Our team of highly skilled craftsmen are trained cabinet makers and use traditional techniques and materials. Where required, pieces are polished by hand. We never over-restore or use sprayed lacquer finishes on original furniture.

We pride ourselves on the highest standards of upholstery. Our specialists choose the best quality interior cushions and all fabrics are selected to be long-lasting and easy to maintain. The faux suede that is used on much of the Art Deco seating is a fabric that we have successfully used for 18 years. Marks can be removed with warm soapy water or a proprietary cleaner, including paint and red wine.

Time constraints prevent us from offering a restoration or advice service for customer’s own items.

Bespoke Furniture by Period Designs

The Art Deco Contemporary Collection was designed by John in 2016 and launched to acclaim by interior designers and clients at the international trade fair, Decorex. The pieces are manufactured by a small Sussex workshop, which has restored our original Art Deco and Arts & Crafts Movement furniture for many years.
