Pewter Chalice with Archibald Knox-inspired Celtic entrelac decoration. Glass decoration to the top and base. The cup is supported with “tree branches”. Possibly by the Knox Craft Society, set up by Denise Knox and other students of Archibald Knox in Kingston-upon-Thames. The shop ran for 20 years and exhibited frequently, with Archibald Knox writing the introductions to their catalogues. The use of green “Peking glass” cabouchons indicates a possible date of 1920s, when this Czech glass became highly popular. We are also considering the possiblity of the cup having been designed and made by Freidrich Adler. Fine condition.
