Description

Bespoke box framed Stained Glass Panel of an Angel by Lilian Pocock. The legend reads ‘In her tongue was the law of kindness’, Proverbs: 31: 26. Lilian Pocock (1883-1974) was the daughter of Victorian artist Lexden Lewis Pocock and the sister of Alfred Lyndhurst Pocock, sculptor, watercolourist and carver of gemstones for Faberge. She attended the Royal Academy Schools and the Central School of Arts and Crafts, where Lilian was taught by the famous stained glass designers Christopher Whall, Karl Parsons and Alfred J Drury. Purchased from the collection of Rachel Moss, who was Britain’s leading stained glass expert. A beautiful example of Arts and Crafts glasswork.
